OREANDA-NEWS. Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv had a working meeting with representatives of Deutsche Bank, which is one of the largest financial institutions in Europe.

In charge of the Deutsche Bank delegation was CEO for Central and Eastern Europe Peter Tils.

The main aim of the meeting was to discuss Deutsche Bank's operation in Ukraine in the future.

Peter Tils confirmed the institution's intentions to continue and to expand its operation in Ukraine in the power and agricultural industries. He also said that Deutsche Bank was interested in developing Ukraine's infrastructure and gas pipeline system, which is used to transport gas to Europe. Mr. Tils expressed his support for Ukraine's new government and its policy aimed at making reforms and developing Ukraine's democratic initiatives.

Stepan Kubiv thanked the Deutsche Bank representatives for their intentions to expand their business despite Ukraine's difficult conditions. He also expressed hope that Deutsche Bank would use its experience and competence to increase investment in Ukraine.

At present, the National Bank of Ukraine is actively negotiating a financial aid package with the international community. Earlier this week, a meeting with EBRD representatives was held as part of the negotiations. At the meeting, the EBRD agreed to allocate additional USD 5 billion in the next five years to help Ukraine make the required economic reforms.
