OREANDA-NEWS. The annual UTair Aviation Employee Games was recognized at the 2014 Athletic Russia Awards as the "Best Corporate Sporting Event in the Industry." This year the awards ceremony took place in Sochi on March 14.

UTair Aviation actively supports the athletic activities of its employees as well as the focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a healthy corporate team spirit. Annual UTair corporate sporting events include tournaments in table tennis, football, chess, volleyball, skiing and basketball. Hundreds of UTair employees participate in these events and the winners are recognized at the annual UTair Sport Elite awards ceremony.

UTair teams have participated in a wide range of corporate competitions and frequently place in top positions. Several UTair teams have become champions at all-Russian and industry sporting events. One of the victories that has marked this year is the first place ranking for the UTair team at the 9th International Industry Games that took place during Civil Aviation Day 2014. UTair veterans are also making good progress and currently lead the pack at the Tyumen Veterans Volleyball Tournament.

The Athletic Russia Awards is an annual event sponsored by the Russian Federal Duma and the Moscow Municipal Physical Training and Sports Department. This year the awards ceremony was timed to coincide with the Sochi Winter Olympics.

UTair Aviation ranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2013 UTair Aviation aircraft transported 9,625,295 passengers and the combined UTair Group fleet transported 10,413,803 passengers. UTair Aviation operates more than 150 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and abroad. Athletic Russia Awards aims at rewarding companies and organizations which have achieved best results in promoting and supporting sport activities in Russia. The awarding ceremony takes place annually and has several nominating categories.
