OREANDA-NEWS. On March 18, 2014, Moscow Domodedovo Airport and easyJet Airlines celebrate one year of partnership: during the period of their collaborative work, more than 250,000 passengers took the opportunity of travelling with the leading European carrier through the largest air hub of Russia and Eastern Europe.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport became the first airport of the country that launched low-cost flights to the UK: in March 2013, the air hub welcomed the easyJet Airlines aircraft operating the first regular flight from London (Gatwick) to Moscow (Domodedovo). At the present moment, the two capitals are linked together by two daily flights which gives passengers a change to choose the time and cost of flights.

Since the British airline came to Domodedovo, travelers also had a unique opportunity to make direct flights from Manchester to Moscow. This route has become the first direct air travel between these two cities in history and has no analogues in the Moscow Aviation Hub. Now flights Manchester-Moscow-Manchester are operated four times a week.

"Thanks to the cooperation with our reliable partner - Moscow Domodedovo Airport - this year we were able to make travelling between the capitals of Russia and the UK more comfortable. The launched destinations have become even more attractive to passengers: providing regular low-cost flights, easyJet contributes to development of business and cultural relations between two states. We are proud of our work together and hope for further fruitful development of our partnership," said Ali Gayward, easyJet commercial manager for Russia.

High quality of services and affordable flight rates confirm the choice of most passengers who when travelling to the UK capital prefer Moscow Domodedovo Airport: share of the air hub passenger traffic in this destination is almost 60% of all flights operated from the Moscow Aviation Hub.

Partnership between the two largest participants of passenger air travel market opens up more possibilities for travelers. The passengers of Moscow Domodedovo Airport can visit London, the second largest city in Europe, and to see the mysterious appeal of Manchester flying with ease and comfort. Attractive rates of easyJet in combination with the British pedantry make it possible to make the Foggy Albion closer to the Russian capital.

easyJet Airlines operate regular flights on over 600 routes between over 130 airports across 30 countries. It has the largest route network in Europe and leads in terms of regular services on 100 most popular European routes and in 50 largest European airports.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest air hub in Russia, and in 2013, its total passenger traffic amounted 30.76 million people. It falls into the category of the largest airports in Europe and is among the top three fastest growing airports in Europe according to the ACI Europe classification. Since 2009, it has been holding the title of the best airport in Eastern Europe as rated by Skytrax. Domodedovo is the base airport in Moscow for member airlines of the largest global airline alliances - Star Alliance and oneworld.
