During the official visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Minister of Environment and Water Resources Nurlan Kapparov and Minister of Infrastructure and Environment of the Netherlands Melanie Schultz van Haegen-Maas Geesteranus signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of "green" technologies, according to the press service of the Kazakh Environment and Water Resources Ministry.

It is planned to expand cooperation in the field of "green" economy and sustainable development, exchange and dissemination of hydrometeorological information, launch of joint projects for the development of "green" technologies, renewable and alternative energy sources, and energy efficiency.

In addition, the document provides for cooperation in the field of protection of water resources from pollution, water resources management, introduction of new technologies in the modernization of hydraulic structures.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against global climate change, study of experience in the sector of solid waste and industrial waste management.

In order to implement the memorandum Kazakhstan and the Netherlands will study legislation on environmental protection, exchange scientific and technical and procedural documentation, scientists, experts in the field of environmental protection, hold joint meetings, conferences, symposia.
