OREANDA-NEWS. On March 25, 2014 the House of Culture and Creativity in Borkovka village of Vyksunsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was opened in a grand ceremony. The new cultural institution was one more gift from Ingosstrakh Insurance Company to the residents of Vyksunsky District within the agenda of a social charity project aimed at assisting communities that suffered from wildfires in 2010. The ceremonial opening of the House of Culture and Creativity was timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Culture celebrated on March 25, and was held as one of the events of the Year of Culture in Russia.

This leading-edge House of Culture and Creativity with an area of about 743 square meters is equipped with all necessary appliances, furniture, musical instruments and is intended to cater for all segments of the population, of all ages and interests. On the ground floor of the building, there are several classrooms. The arts and crafts studio will offer classes on fashion, textile design and clothes making, embroidery, making cloth dolls, knitting, beading and patchwork. In the game room, visitors will play checkers, chess, bingo and other board games. In the art studio, one will have an opportunity to learn the basics of painting and sculpture, ornamental painting (Khokhloma, Gzhel and Zhostovo styles), as well as floristic and decoupage. On the second floor, there are a vocal studio and a drama studio, a school of the young journalist, class of computer-assisted creativity and recreation room, which can also be used as a dance hall, sports hall or a conference room.

"In the development of this project we focused primarily on the interests of local people and tried to take all their wishes into consideration. For us it is important that everyone can find activities to his or her liking,” Alexei Sokolov, Deputy CEO of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, says. “Today, opening the doors of the House of Culture and Creativity for all residents of Borkovka, we can say that Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has contributed to the creation of a social center for Vyksunsky District, which includes both health care facilities and cultural facilities. We hope that they will be popular with the residents of Vyksa and will benefit more than one generation."

The opening of the House of Culture and Creativity is one of the stages of a social charity project that Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has been implementing in the Nizhny Novgorod region since 2011. During this period, the company provided all the necessary equipment for the Center for Creativity and a class in the School of Arts in the village of Verkhnyaya Vereya, purchased two new ambulances with medical equipment and ultrasound machine for Vyksa Central District Hospital, four fire engines for several settlements in the district, as well as firefighting kits for volunteer firefighting squads, built and equipped medical and obstetrical station (MOS) in Borkovka village, purchased furniture and toys for Vyksa Infant Orphanage, installed 2 satellite TV sets in children's social rehabilitation center, purchased 14,000 volumes of fiction, scientific and educational literature to replenish the stock of rural libraries and the list could go on.
