OREANDA-NEWS.  During a working visit to Tatarstan, Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Government, was introduced an innovative product of KAMAZ – the KAMATEYNER project.
During the presentation at Kazan State Power Engineering University, the Russian prime minister examined with interest the presented KAMAZ trucks with quick-changeable containers and acquainted himself with the principles of their operation. Pavel Kanichev, Deputy Director General of KAMAZ for Sales and Service, told Mr. Medvedev and Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov about the implementation of the project and its cost-effectiveness.
According to Mr. Kanichev, the KAMATEYNER project can become the main mechanism for achieving global goals of “Transport Strategy of Russia 2030”. It can increase the performance of transport systems 2-4 times, also due to enhancing the service speed of consignment from the sender to the consumer. The implementation of the project will reduce vehicle’s power consumption by 30% and double or even triple the profitability of transportation. The project has already been successfully tested in Russia`s largest freight forwarding organization ZhelDorEkspeditsiya and FSUE Russian Post.
The Russian prime minister said that Russia needed such a project under conditions of an ever-increasing freight turnover. Cooperation with Russia’s largest freight carrier – Russian Post – can become the basis for its implementation, especially as KAMATEYNER vehicles were successfully adapted for the needs of the postal service. Dmitry Medvedev expressed hope that the project would become widespread throughout Russia.
