OREANDA-NEWS. April 14 being the National Fire Service Day, Prakash Sarode, managing director, Tata Pigments, hoisted the flag to commemorate the day with a declaration that the days from April 14-20, 2014, be observed as the National Fire Service Week.

In association with Tata Steel fire brigade personnel, a fire safety training programme was organised in the plant, and all employees participated. Jagdish Singh from Tata Steel fire brigade provided information about the different classes of fire (A, B, C, D). Tata Pigments has different types of fire extinguishers (55 in number) installed at different locations inside the works.

The event was followed by a quiz competition and the winners were awarded with a book, Citizen Handbook on Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness, by Mr Singh.

On April 4, 2014, the company also organised a mass safety campaign with the 'fire safety' theme.
