OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2014. The Moldovan, Romanian and Ukrainian transport ministers approved the route of the Black Sea Ring Highway on the territory of these three states, according to a press release by the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry.

The way of the future Black Sea Ring Highway (BSRH) will have two directions: from Odessa to Bucharest, via Chisinau – Ungheni and from Odessa to Bucharest via Reni - Giurgiulesti - Galati.

"The itinerary was worked out, in order to serve the transport needs of the three states. From the European viewpoint, the inclusion of Chisinau in this route will allow connecting Moldova to an important transport flow on the principal EU axes," Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Vasile Botnari said at a meeting of Ministers of Transport of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (BSEC) members states.

Also on 16 April, in Sofia, the transport ministers signed a declaration on the promotion of the green transport development in BSEC member states.

BSEC is the oldest form of cooperation in the Black Sea region. The organisation was founded in 1992, when leaders of 11 countries signed the Bosphorus Declaration in Istanbul.
