OREANDA-NEWS. April 24, 2014. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, imports of similar products for the period decreased by 1.8 % - up to USD 80.6 million.

According to the official statistics, the Moldovan fruits and vegetables exports in January-February 2014 amounted to USD 49.4 million (-1.9 % compared with the same period of 2013), while imports made up USD 20.2 million (-19.4 %). For the first two months meat and meat products exports made only USD 0.5 million (-88.9 %) and imports - USD 5.7 million (21.1%), respectively.

Exports of the commodity group "Dairy products and poultry eggs" amounted to USD 1.5 million (19 %) while imports made USD 7.9 million (14.8 %). Exports of sugar, sugar products and honey amounted to USD 2.5 million (-28.9 %), while imports of the same products - USD 4.4 million (43.5 %). Export of cereals made up USD 30 million (84.9 %), while imports - USD 11.1 million (-11.2 %). Exports of coffee, tea, cocoa and spices totaled USD 0.7 million (31.7 %), while imports- USD 7.5 million (-2.1 %), respectively.

Exports of animal feed (except for unmilled cereals) made USD 4.8 million (3.1 times), imports - USD 4 million (+13.4 %). Imports of various foods and drugs amounted to USD 11.2 million (7.8 %), live animals - USD 1.7 million (2.1 times), products of category "Fish and crustaceans, mollusks and aquatic invertebrates” - USD 6.9 million (-8%).
