OREANDA-NEWS. During the first four months of 2014, the passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 8,724,682 persons which is 4.8% more yoy. Only in April, Moscow Domodedovo Airport rendered services to 2,387,686 passengers, which is 9.6% more yoy.

In January-April 2014, the highest growth in passenger traffic - 12.3% - was registered on the following domestic routes: Sochi, St. Petersburg, Mineralnye Vody, Krasnodar, Vladikavkaz. Number of passengers on these routes increased by 32.7% yoy and amounted to 1,084,000 people.

During four months, Moscow Domodedovo Airport serviced 4,783,933 passengers, on international routes, of which 1,302,341 people - in April 2014. Performance indicators of the second spring month exceeded 2013 by 5%. The highest growth in passenger traffic was registered on the following routes: Sharm-El-Sheikh, Kishenev, London, Hurghada, Punta Cana. In January-April 2014, 995,000 people were transported on these routes, which is 24.1% more than last year.

One of the most notable and interesting trends of recent months is the redistribution of passenger traffic towards increasing the air travel volume on domestic routes.

During the first four months, the largest airport of the Moscow Aviation Hub increased the number of take-offs and landings to 80,689 thousand, 21,231 of which were made in April.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport cargo traffic in the January-April of 2014 amounted to 58,272 tons.
