OREANDA-NEWS. Recognising the contribution of Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) towards the noble cause of Blood Donation, Indian Red Cross Society during the Valedictory function of World Donors Week conferred an award to TPDDL for highest contribution of blood among the corporates category.

Mr. Dileep Kumar, General Manager (CSR) and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Senior Manager (CSR) received the award from the hands of Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon'ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India

On behalf of TPDDL, Mr. Dileep Kumar, General Manager (CSR) and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Senior Manager (CSR) received the award from the hands of Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon'ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on June 20, 2014.

World Donors Week is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Lord. (Dr.) Karl Landsteiner, the noble laureate who discovered the ABO blood group system. The day is observed to recognize & felicitate regular individual donors and agencies who have committed themselves to be a part of this noble cause. This year's theme for World Blood Donors Day is 'Safe blood for saving mothers'.

"Blood donation is one of the noble causes and we are extremely proud of our employees who have voluntarily participated in this activity and have helped save precious lives. We are confident that besides our employees, all other stakeholders would also come forward and take part in such noble activities." Said Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & ED, TPDDL.

TPDDL, in association with the India Red Cross Society, started organizing blood donation camp from 2005 and has continuously encouraged its employees to come forward and donate blood. In addition, TPDDL also conducts several other programs such as health camps and drug de-addiction camp in its distribution network. These camps have benefited a large number of people from the JJ clusters and other areas.
