OREANDA-NEWS. UTair-Ufa, part of the UTair Group, has been certified to provide MRO for Sukhoi Superjet aircraft.

Certification procedures have been an integral part of the activities involved in the project to establish an MRO base in Ufa. The trilateral agreement for the project was signed on December 5, 2013 by the Bashkortostan Republic Government, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and UTair Airlines. During the first half of 2014 the base acquired trained technical personnel and necessary equipment and passed a Rosaviation inspection.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliners with 103-seat configuration will be used by UTair-Express, a subsidiary airline within the UTair Group. The agreement between UTair Airlines, VEB-Leasing and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft for the delivery of the aircraft was signed in August, 2011 at the MAKS Air Show. The first commercial flight for a Sukhoi Superjet 100 is scheduled for July, 2014.

The LR model (Long Range) selected by UTair has longer flight range of 4578 km (2470 NM), an increased takeoff weight of 49.45 tons and, to compensate the latter, enhanced wing construction. SSJ100 LRs are fitted with standard SaM146 engines with 5% increased takeoff thrust.
