OREANDA-NEWS.  July 03, 2014. Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov predicts the average yield of country’s crops in 2014.

A. Mamytbekov also noted that crops export will depend on the harvest level. "Domestic consumption of wheat is 6 million tons. Of those 2 million tons is used for seeds, 2 million - for food, and about 2 million – for technological processing and fodder," he said.

The Minister stressed that the probability of drop in prices for grain and surplus of grain is low for Kazakhstan. "Today, we are implementing a policy of diversification, there is a reduction of wheat acreage, and it will be adjusted to our internal capabilities of consumption and sales opportunities. In recent years, the prices are not going down as they used to. There must be no problems such as shortage of cars or lack of elevator capacities," A. Mamytbekov concluded.
