OREANDA-NEWS. The USD 2 billion bridge loan from Russia's Bank VTB has been transferred to the central budget of Belarus, the press-service of the Belarusian government said in a release.

The credit deal is intended to replenish Belarus' gold and FX reserves, the government said.

As previously reported, in late May 2014 Belarus' representative to the Eurasian Economic Commission, Sergei Rumas, reported about a deal with Russia's VTB to provide a U.S. USD 1 billion bridge loan by mid June. On June 18, Maxim Yermolovich told that Belarus expected to receive a U.S. USD 2 billion bridge loan from Russia's VTB Bank by the end of June.
