OREANDA-NEWS.   Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has been the first among Russian mobile companies to offer MNP service (mobile number portability) not only at its single-brand stores but also retail shops of its partners.

Starting from June 2014 subscribers of all mobile operators may fill in applications at Svyaznoy retail shop to change operator while keeping its mobile number (MNP).

The operator’s partner started accepting application forms one month ago and the service is gaining popularity. Tele2 received several hundreds of applications from subscribers willing to change their current operator from 17 Russian regions.

Tele2 launched MNP service on 1 December 2013. Applications for mobile number portability are being accepted at Tele2 single-brand stores and Svyaznoy retail shops.

For the comfort of its clients Tele2 has created a special website mnp.tele2.ru, dedicated to MNP – it contains detailed guidelines on how to switch an operator and answers to FAQ.

On the website, users may also find out whose operator’s network and in what region a mobile number is registered on.
