OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 1.2% inflation growth in June 2014, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.

Consumer prices grew 10.2% in January-June 2014.

Food prices grew 1.5% month on month in June 2014 (up 13.8% in Jan-Jun), including the price of foodstuffs - up 1.7% (up 12.7%), Belstat informed.

The price of the following food products went down month on month in June: eggs - down 2.9% (down 9.4% in Jan-Jun); fruits - down 6.2% (up 10.1%); vegetables - down 4.6% (down 8.7%); sugar - down 0.02% (up 7.5%).

The price of the following food products went up in June:

potatoes - up 45.2% (+87.5% in Jan-Jun); pasta - up 1.2% (+12.3%); bread and bakery goods - up 0.2% (+1,4%); confectionery goods - up 0.9% (+6.7%); tobaccos - up 0.1% (+20%); alcoholic beverages - up 0.6% (+15.4%); fish and seafood - up 1.7% (+13.8%); cheese - up 0.5% (+12.1%); cereals - up 1.4% (+8.1%); milk and dairy products - up 0.4% (+7.2%); meat and poultry - up 3.9% (+30.2%); sausages and smoked meat - up 4.1% (+15.3%), tea - up 1.8% (+9.3%).

Non-food prices grew 0.3% on the month in June 2014 (up 2.6% in Jan-Jun).

The price of the following non-food products went down in June: footwear - down 0.1% month on (down 0.7% in Jan-Jun 2014); furniture - down 0.6% (+1.2%).

Prices of clothes grew 0.01% on the month in June (up 1.8%), medications - up 1.3% (up 8%), construction materials - up 0.6% (up 4%), perfumes and cosmetics - up 0.8% (up 4.8%), fabrics - up 0.2% (up 2.6%), detergents - up 1.7% (up 6.8%), bicycles and motorbikes - up 0.1% (+3.8%).

The prices of services grew 1.5% on the month in June 2014 (up 15.8% in Jan-Jun).

Utility tariffs reduced 0.05% on the month in June 2014 (up 20.6% in Jan-Jun). Tariffs on household services grew 0.9% on the month in June 2014 (up 10.9%), including water supply - down 0.3% (up 19.5%).

Passenger transportation tariffs grew 3.4% on the month in June 2014 (up 19.4%), medical services - up 2.8% (up 19.4%), kindergarten fees - up 11.6% (up 93.4%).

Belarus' government originally expected inflation growth to stay under 11% in 2014, however in April the forecast was downplayed to 16-17%. Belarus' consumer prices grew 16.5% in 2013, while the government's forecast stood at 12%.
