OREANDA-NEWS.    Williams Partners L.P. (NYSE: WPZ) today announced that the regular quarterly cash distribution its common unitholders receive has been increased to USD 0.9165 per unit.

The board of directors of the partnership's general partner has approved the quarterly cash distribution, which is payable on Aug. 8, 2014, to common unitholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 1.

The new per-unit amount is a 6.3-percent increase over the partnership's distribution of USD 0.8625 per unit that was paid in August 2013. It is also a 1.33-percent increase over the partnership's previous quarterly distribution of USD 0.9045 per unit.

Second-Quarter Financial Results

Williams Partners plans to report its second-quarter 2014 financial results after the market closes on Wednesday, July 30.

The partnership's distributions to foreign investors, which are attributable to income that is effectively connected with a U.S. trade or business, are subject to withholding under U.S. law. In light of the uncertainty at the time of making distributions regarding the portion of any distribution that is attributable to income that is not effectively connected with a U.S. trade or business, we treat all of our distributions as attributable to U.S. operations. Accordingly, the entire amount of the partnership's distributions to foreign investors is subject to federal income tax withholding at the highest effective tax rate. Nominees, and not Williams Partners L.P., are treated as the withholding agents responsible for withholding on the distributions received by them on behalf of foreign investors.
