OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' ferrous rolled stock output decreased 7.4% on the year in January-June 2014 to 1.178 million tonnes, an official with Belarus' National Statistics Committee told.

Steel output decreased 11.7% on the year to 1.26 million tonnes. Carbonic steel wire output grew 1.7% on the year to 226,600 tonnes. Stainless steel wire output reduced 19.2% to 2,280 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 44,500 tonnes of metal cord in the period, on par with H1 2013.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus reduced 2.6% on the year to 21.07 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in Jan-Jun 2014 (USD 2 billion).

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.46 trillion (USD 142 million) as of July 1, 2014, 60.3% of the average monthly output.
