OREANDA-NEWS. ISS-Reshetnev Company hosted Dmitry Rogozin, Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, at its production sites on August 5, 2014.

To get acquainted with the company's work and processes, Dmitry Rogozin was taken to the workshops dedicated to the assembly of satellites and large-sized deployable structures. Nikolay Testoyedov, Director General of ISS-Reshetnev, brought him up to date on satellite projects currently underway and also spoke about the company's recent advancements that enabled it to develop and build satellites on its own without depending upon imported products. Dmitry Rogozin, in his turn, added that ensuring technological self-sufficiency was the main issue and that all Russian companies should join forces and work in this direction.

During his working visit, Dmitry Rogozin held a meeting on which the participants discussed issues related to the manufacture of satellites for various applications. “We need hi-tech satellites that are capable of providing the full spectrum of communications, positioning, geodetic and mapping services to users across Russia,” said Vice Prime Minister. In addition to that, he said that increasing the production of military satellites was one of the top priorities in Russia's defense strategy, ensuring national security.
