OREANDA-NEWS. Uzbekistan and China outlined four main directions of cooperation, President of China Xi Jinping stated.

Chinese leader said that he and Uzbek President Islam Karimov have single opinion on cooperation between two states.

He said that the sides, firstly, will support mutual development. He said that this is will of people of two states and priority interests of two states to keep independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President of China Xi Jinping said secondly, the sides have agreed to strengthen cooperation in energy, commerce, finance, investment, agriculture and transportation. There are also agreements to ensure the building of line-D of the China-Central Asia natural gas pipeline and to develop the Silk Road economic belt, he added.

Third, the sides will continue to fight terrorism and extremism, as well as trans-boundary drug crimes. Fourth, the countries will strengthen cooperation in culture, education, healthcare, tourism and deepen mutual understanding and strengthen friendship between peoples of two states.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov paid a state visit to China on 19-20 August 2014 at the invitation of President of China Xi Jinping.
