OREANDA-NEWS. The companies registered in Belarus' six free economic zones reported a net profit of Br360.7 billion (USD 34.75 million) in H1 2014, up five times year on year, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

FEZ resident companies' industrial output grew 1.2% year on year in H1 2014 to Br35.295 trillion (USD 3.4 billion). Sales proceeds grew 3.4% to Br39.629 (USD 3.818 billion). Investments grew 96% to Br11.349 trillion (USD 1.084 billion).

Exports reduced 5.7% to USD 2.088 billion in H1 2014. Imports reduced 11.4% to USD 1.747 billion.

Belarusian free economic zones had 477 registered companies as of July 1, 2014 (down by 7.2%, a decrease of 37 resident companies), including 448 running businesses (down by 2.8% - a decrease by 13 resident companies). The number of loss-maker stood at 152 as of June 1, 2014 and accounted for 33.9% of the total number.
