OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' privately-owned OOO Tabak-Invest, based in Minsk, decreased the output of tobaccos by 5.7% in January-August 2014 to 4.591 billion pieces, an official with Belgospischeprom concern told.

In August alone, OOO Tabak-Invest produced 626,432 million units, down 3.5% year on year.

Tabak-Invest manufactures Winston, Monte Carlo, Camel, Mild Seven, Magna, Mevius and LD brand cigarettes under contracts with JT International (JTI); West and Golden Gate under a licence agreement with Imperial Tobacco Group.

The company also makes Korona, its own brand revitalized in August 2010. In December 2012 the company resumed the proprietary cigarette brand Fort.

Production under contracts with JTI accounted for 80.1% of the Tabak-Invest output in January-August 2014 with 3.676 billion units (down 2.8% on the year), and Imperial Tobacco Group brands accounted for 1.85% with 84.823 million units (down 29.4%).

Tabak-Invest's own brand output accounted for 18.1% of the overall output - 829.846 million (down 14.3%).

Tabak-Invest had its 2014 production quota set at 7 billion pieces.
