OREANDA-NEWS. RWE has qualified for the worldwide Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the 16th time in a row. The company is placed in both the 'World' and 'Europe' categories. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index are considered throughout the world to be a key set of indices for sustainable corporate governance and recognise the best in class in each sector. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are compiled and published in collaboration with the companies Sustainability Asset Management Indexes and Dow Jones Indexes.

RWE is one of the few German companies who have continuously qualified since the start of the sustainability index in 1999. Performance is evaluated in the areas of ecological, social and economic sustainability. In the area 'Ecology', RWE gained points for different factors including the high efficiency of their power plants. In the area 'Social', high occupational safety contributed to a good evaluation. RWE gained good results in the economic category for factors such as a transparent corporate governance and compliance. In some points here the company proved to be the best in their branch.
