OREANDA-NEWS. According to the survey made by Agency of Political and Economic Communications, Aeroflot took the second place in the social responsibility rating of Russian companies. The national carrier has risen to the second place from the 22nd position.

This rating is made on a monthly basis. 40 experts in September 2014 participated in the survey where more than 100 largest Russian companies were evaluated.

Social and charity programs have always been a crucial part of Aeroflot development strategy. The Airline cares about the environment and continuously improves energy and environmental efficiency thanks to its modern and young aircraft fleet and the most advanced technologies. Aeroflot is directly involved in the development of the Russian air transport network and creates new jobs in the regions of Russia. This summer Aeroflot launched a budget airline. The low cost airline was created to enhance the mobility of the Russian population and increase the transport accessibility of regions of the Russian Federation. The budget carrier was focused on the price sensitive clients who consider mostly the cost of transport services.

Aeroflot is actively involved in charity and socially significant projects.

Along with the Governmental initiative to provide the Russian children with comprehensive medical assistance Aeroflot has launched the "The heart has two wings" campaign. The program is dedicated to help children suffering from severe and rare diseases who require prompt assistance of qualified specialists.

The company also supports over the years "Train of Hope" charity campaign which is conducted within the social project "Children's question".

One more project "Charity Miles" helps seriously ill children to get the required treatment abroad.

Every year Aeroflot launches "Revisiting Battlefields Program" which facilitates air travel for war Veterans during the annual Victory Day celebrations in May.
