OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2014. Deliveries of Russian titanium to the American company Boeing are continuing unhindered. Sanctions in Europe and the United States have not negatively impacts on the long-term contracts between the aircraft manufacturer and VSMPO-AVISMA.

“The sanctions have not affected the implementation of projects, which are protected by long-term contracts. We are working with Boeing as usual, with both sides fulfilling all previous agreements,” explained Marina Voronkova, Director of Regional Policy and Public Relations for VSMPO-AVISMA, to ITAR-TASS.

Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA, Russia’s largest titanium producer, signed an agreement in 2013 for the supply of semi-finished titanium products for Boeing 777X aircraft. In addition, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, governor of Sverdlovsk Region, proposed to Sergei Kravchenko, president of the company Boeing – Russia and CIS, that he consider using the resources of the Titanium Valley special economic zone to develop further joint projects between Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA.
On July 14, 2914, Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA extended their long-term contract for the supply of titanium mill products for another three years. The new contract is now valid until the end of 2022. Under the terms of the amended agreement, VSMPO will continue to supply Boeing and its suppliers with titanium mill products in the agreed annual quantities in order to meet the needs for the production of civilian aircraft.

As part of the new contract VSMPO will provide service support, including logistics, cutting, and timely delivery of products through its global network of distribution centers in the UK, Germany, China, and the United States.

Recently, representatives of the company Snecma (part of the Safran group) visited VSMPO-AVISMA and confirmed that they are fully satisfied with cooperation and will begin increasing orders in 2015. Next year, Snecma plans to place its largest order in the history of its relations with VSMPO-AVISMA.

VSMPO-AVISMA is the world’s largest manufacturer of titanium ingots and semi-finished products made from all kinds of titanium alloys, as well as large-size molded aluminum products and semi-finished products from steel alloys and heat-resistant nickel-based alloys. The company is part of Rostec Corporation.
