OREANDA-NEWS. United Metallurgical Company and the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute have tallied the midterm results of their partnership initiative aimed at training a reserve of instructors. Since 2010, OMK has been allocating 3 million rubles annually for scholarships for the institute's instructors, postgraduates, and undergraduates.

In the last four years, since the company and one of Russia's leading technical higher education institutions signed an agreement, over 40 OMK scholars have prepared three new courses, developed several learning and methodology complexes, and provided content for distance learning in five disciplines. Additionally, over 160 scientific articles have been published.

"The cooperation between OMK and the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute is a good example of an effective interaction between a higher education facility and a large company. Owing to the OMK scholarship fund, the institute enjoys comfortable conditions for teaching its reserve of professors and lecturers - the elite of Russian technical science," said Vladimir Romenets, advisor to the institute head, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management of Production Facilities at the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute.

"Our company has traditionally given maximum support to young promising scientists and specialists, thereby laying a solid foundation for developing our country's industrial potential," said Alexander Kastravets, OMK's PR Director.
