OREANDA-NEWS. The Walmart Foundation's Colorado State Giving Program has awarded USD 455,000 to thirteen Colorado nonprofits that are helping to fund vital local programs to improve healthy eating, fight hunger and provide training for career placement. The organizations include Operation Homefront, Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, Food Bank for Larimer County, Colorado Springs Ecumenical Social Ministries, REACH Pikes Peak, Posada Pueblo, Manna Soup Kitchen, Growing Gardens, University of Colorado Foundation, Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, Blessings in a Backpack, Colorado Farm to Table and Denver Inner City Parish.

“When local organizations come together to assist the communities they serve, it's a win-win scenario,” said Governor John Hickenlooper. “Organizations, like Walmart, are paving the way to make a difference and improve the lives of all Coloradoans by partnering with nonprofits across the state through their State Giving Program.”

The Walmart Foundation's Colorado State Giving Program awards grants to local organizations that address the needs of the communities they serve and make a significant social impact.
