OREANDA-NEWS. Submissions acceptance started for the XVIIth contest of student research projects named after V.I. Scherbakov. The organizer of the contest is Ingosstrakh Insurance Company. The authors of the best research papers on insurance will be offered jobs in the company and will have an opportunity to begin their career in the Ingosstrakh Insurance Company team.

The total prize fund of the contest is RUB 500,000, which includes grants and encouragement bonuses for the winners and awardees of the contest. The deadline for the submission of applications is October 31, 2014.

The contest is intended for full time students of higher education institutions in their 2nd to 5th years. The types of research papers that can be submitted to the contest include peer-reviewed graduate and course papers, scientific articles, as well as research works written for the contest.

The works are evaluated by the expert panel of the contest, which includes heads of institutes and departments of the leading Moscow higher education institutions, as well as senior executives of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, according to the following criteria: relevance and practical value of the subject, independence of the analysis conducted, academic approach and perspective, logical and consistent presentation of material, depth of the analysis of the topic, and the author's competence.

Last year, 38 students from 30 leading higher education institutions of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, and other cities and towns of Russia took part in the contest. The first prize was awarded to Tatyana Geraskina, a student of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogarev, for the research paper entitled "The Development of Agency Market: Monoagent or Agent that Provides Services to Several Companies".

The contest was set up in honur of the 50th anniversary of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company in 1997, and in 2008 it received the name of Vyacheslav Ivanovich Scherbakov. The contest of student works gives young people a possibility to prove themselves and give their career a head start in a large and renowned company.

Ingosstrakh Insurance Company regards the contest as a search tool that helps the company find and select talented young people who can join the company's team of specialists and contribute to its development. During the years when the contest was held, 39 grants and 74 prizes were awarded to the winners and laureates, and 20 authors of the best research papers were employed by the company, many of those are still with the team of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company.
