OREANDA-NEWS. In January-September 2014 SUEK (OJSC Siberian Coal Energy Company) produced 68,6 mln tonnes of coal, which is at the same level for the same period last year (68,9 mln tonnes for 9 months of 2013).

Sales volume of January-September 2014 decreased by 1% over the same period last year to 65,5 mln tonnes of coal.

International sales volume of January-September 2014 increased by 9% to 33,8 mln tonnes of coal, at the same time own coal export increased by 7% to 30,3 mln tonnes of coal. Key export markets include Great Britain, China, South Korea, Japan, Netherlands, Taiwan and Germany.

Domestic sales declined by 3,4 mln tonnes. 31,7 mln tones of coal were delivered to Russian customers, 24,9 out of which were delivered to electric power plants. The decline in domestic sales took place at first six month of the year and was driven by weakening demand for coal due to the mild winter, increased hydropower electricity generation and abundant stocks in coal fired power plants.
