OREANDA-NEWS. Basel Aero, a part of Russia's industrial diversified group Basic Element, announces that six jet aircraft of the Aerobatic team Russ, Russia's oldest jet formation team, landed in the Sochi International Airport on Friday. Russ, the only Russian civil jet formation team, will perform its stunts above the F1 track, on the final day of Russian F1 Grand Prix on Sunday.

Five jet-propelled aircraft - L-39 Albatros and a short-haul L-410 Turbolet arrived at the Sochi International Airport on Friday. The squadron is based in Russian central city of Vyazma, 220 km from Moscow westwards. All of the group's pilots are qualified A-class pilots-instructors and each of them has about 2500 hours experience on different types of aircrafts.

Russ will perform a 10-min aerobatics show above the Formula 1 track in the Olympic Park on October 12, a final day of Russia's first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sochi. The pilots will display their trademark stunts including Loop of Nesterov, Fountain, Tulip, Barrel roll and others. On top of that, three L-39 jets will unfold Russian flag in the sky.

Sochi International Airport, a main gateway to the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix, is planning to serve 114,240 arriving and departing passengers from 30 countries on board over 730 flights including up to 300 private jets on what is 100 flights more than during the International Investment Forum in Sochi that was held in mid-September.

Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix is scheduled for October 10-12.
