OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 1.2% inflation growth in September 2014, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.

Consumer prices grew 13.4% in January-September 2014.

Food prices grew 1.1% month on month in September 2014 (up 16.6% in Jan-Sep), including the price of foodstuffs - up 1.2% (up 15%), Belstat informed.

Non-food prices grew 1.2% on the month in September 2014 (up 6.1% in Jan-Sep).

The price of the following non-food products went down in September: bicycles and motorbikes - down 1.2% (+2.2% in Jan-Sep 2014).

The prices of services grew 1.6% on the month in September 2014 (up 19.7% in Jan-Sep).

Utility tariffs grew 0.6% on the month in September 2014 (up 21.2% in Jan-Sep).

Passenger transportation tariffs reduced 2.5% on the month in September 2014 (up 21.4%), medical services - up 1.4% (up 23.7%), telecom services - up 1.7% (up 16.4%).

Belarus' government originally expected inflation growth to stay under 11% in 2014, however in April the forecast was downplayed to 16-17%. Belarus' consumer prices grew 16.5% in 2013, while the government's forecast stood at 12%.
