OREANDA-NEWS. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) announced agreements with Lyft and UberX, permitting the Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) to operate legally at the Airport. The pilot permit allows drivers to pick up and drop off at SFO. Both companies expect to begin operations at the Airport within the next 30 days. Last week, SFO signed a permit with Sidecar.

"We are committed to be an industry leader, creating a roadmap for innovative business models like Lyft and UberX to operate legally in an airport," said Airport Director John L. Martin. "We're proud to be the first airport in the U.S. to have both signed permits from both companies. This gives customers at SFO more choice, without compromising our focus on safety and security."
