OREANDA-NEWS. Global sales of passenger cars in the first half of 2014 were 32 million 742,000 cars - this is more by 4.1% than the year before. Thus, the global car market shows a positive trend the fifth consecutive year.

According to the International Association of Automobile Manufacturers (OICA), the leader of the world car market for six months in 2014 is still China, where the sales of passenger cars increased by 11.2% to 9 million 633 thousand units (it is 29.4% of the total worldwide sales). Second place by sales of cars is kept by America with the indicator of 3 million 896 sold units (-0.1%). The third place of the championship is occupied by Japan - in the I half it was sold 2 million 566 thousand vehicles (+ 11%). The next is Germany, whose car market in the period increased by 2.4% to 1 million 538 thousand cars. India still closes "five" leaders of the world car market, where car sales were 1 million 290 thousand units (-3.2%).

We also add that Russian in this ranking took the eighth place with 1 million 108 thousand passenger cars (-6.2%), whereas a year ago the Russian car market was on the seventh place. Thus, our country during the reporting period has passed forward the UK, where it was sold 1 million 287 thousand passenger cars (+10.6%). In this case, the British car market was also able to "outrun" Brazil, whose result was 1 million 190 thousand vehicles (-10.2%).
