OREANDA-NEWS. JSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) has moved from 233rd position to 130th among the world's leading energy companies in 2014 Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings.

Moving up from the 233th position (2013 Platts Top 250) to 130th in 2014 RusHydro has overtaken Russian Grids (196 rank), Moscow United Electric Grid Company (MOESK) (152 rank) and Brazilian Eletrobras (192 rank) among other major utilities companies.

11 Russian energy companies were included in 2014 Platts Rankings. RusHydro has been recognized as the best Russian electric power company gaining the 10th rank and just behind of eight major Russian oil and gas companies.

Platts Rankings are based on four key metrics: assets, revenues, profits, and return on invested capital for 2013 fiscal year. To be ranked, companies must have assets greater than USD 5 bn.
