OREANDA-NEWS. Rosbank and United way of Russia Fund announced the results of the First grant competition of the "Vmeste my mozhem bolshe' (We can do more together) regional charity programme. From July 24 to September 19 applications from non-profit organizations on funding projects to support disabled people were admitted.

The contest was held in five cities of Russia: Ekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Samara and Saint-Petersburg. 31 non-profit organisations participated. By the results of the competition, the finalists will be paid 7 grants of 500 000 rubles each. The decision on the allocation of funding was taken by the independent expert council, consisting of non-profit organisations representatives, as well as mass media and local authorities.

Dmitry Olyunin, Rosbank CEO, commented: "Creating friendly and enabling environment for people with disabilities and infrastructure for their socialization is an important issue taking into account the number of people needing such help and support in our country. Our programme is focused on the uniting efforts, resources and expertise of non-profit organisations, the state and business in order to design viable models helping to integrate people with disabilities into the society. The models might be available and further developed in other regions of the country".
