OREANDA-NEWS. On 6 November 2014, Svetlana Ulyanova, director of development of the Russian branch of the DQS-UL Group presented Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO with an international labor safety certificate.

A certification audit of the labor safety management system verifying compliance with the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard took place at NPO Saturn in the period of 29 September - 3 October 2014 following which the company was given positive recommendations to receive an international certificate. Over the same time period, NPO Saturn confirmed validity of the already held ISO 14001:2004 ecological management standard.

According to Svetlana Ulyanova, "the goal set by NPO Saturn in the field of labor safety and ecological management has been successfully achieved and, what's important, the company has been able to ensure integration of these systems as well as their interaction with its other management systems, e.g. Lean, which will undoubtedly prove to be useful to the company.'

As noted by Ilya Fedorov, "through taking care of ecological and labor safety issues, we first of all think about the future of our kids and of the safety of our high-tech production environment. The certificate that we have received has come as yet another step towards the creation of the effective integrated system of corporate governance incorporating ecological management (ISO 14001), safety management (OHSAS 18001), quality management (ISO 9001) and social standard (SA 8000), which is an additional aspect providing the company with a competitive edge and ensuring its success in the future."

A decision to have the company's labor safety management system certified in order to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard was made by NPO Saturn back in December 2011. Since then Saturn has implemented a Labor safety policy and carried out extensive work to pass from a compensation, cost-based labor safety management model to a state-of-the-art occupational risk management system.
