OREANDA-NEWS. UniCredit Bank continues to increase the number of non-cash transactions, improving the index for the first 8 months of 2014 by 43% - to 11 million transactions. The volume of transactions for the period increased by 43.8% - to UAH 2 billion.

To compare, in January-August 2014 around 13 million cash transactions were carried out, which together reached almost UAH 15.8 billion. Contactless payments are the most rapidly developing non-cash transactions in UniCredit Bank mainly thanks to the innovative and secure technology that allows to make purchases instantly, just by applying a payment card to display of the contactless reader at the check-desk or payment terminal.

During the first half the number of contactless transactions increased by 150%, while the volume of transactions increased by almost three times. And our special offers with the leading payment systems, such as "Pay by card and get full cart" are more and more encouraging our customers to choose the new types of payments."

According to the data of UniCredit Bank processing center, the bank's customers often use contactless cards to pay for goods and services in the retail chains of "KOSMO", "Velyka Kyshenya", "Velmart", "Silpo", "Billa", "MegaMarket", "Eco-Market", "Fora", retail network "Carrefour", as well as gas stations and McDonald's restaurant chain. Abroad contactless cards are used primarily in Poland, the Czech Republic, the UK, Spain and Georgia.
