OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2014. The International Tax Review Transfer Pricing Week has released the World Transfer Pricing 2015 guide ranking SORAINEN as a 1st tier adviser in the Baltics.

According to the guide “SORAINEN’s transfer pricing practice has seen strong growth this year, and has advised firms across a variety of sectors including food and catering, wholesale of goods, financial services, insurance and energy”. The guide also presents SORAINEN as a firm that “offers a full scope of transfer pricing services and is a member of Transfer Pricing Associates Global, a network with members in over 30 countries”.

Among the most important SORAINEN deals can be pointed out advising Caparol Baltica, Gjensidige Baltic and Hesburger. SORAINEN assisted Caparol Baltica in preparing transfer pricing documentation to defend its position from both the Latvian and Estonian tax authorities. The guide emphasises that “the complexity of the deal lay in substantiation of inter-company pricing for the client’s operations from the perspectives of the provider and the receiver of the same service”. SORAINEN also advised Gjensidige Baltic on its compliance with the requirements for drafting transfer pricing documentation applicable in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and on transfer pricing risk mitigation. Additionally, SORAINEN has advised and prepared transfer pricing analyses of related-party transactions for Hesburger, the largest fast-food chain operator in Finland and the Baltic States.

An important step towards strengthening the SORAINEN transfer pricing practice is considered to be that Aina Bambane and Aija Lasmane (former Big 4 employees) as well as senior associate Indre Sceponiene and associate Tanel Molok have joined the regional SORAINEN transfer pricing team.
