OREANDA-NEWS. "EGIDA PTV" dust suppression installations (SPPK-91) are put into operation at K-1A and K-1B two first storage conveyors at one of the JSC "Daltransugol" coal terminals.

New dust suppression technology involves proportional use of 1% foamer which is obtained by combining DustFoam reagent with compressed water. 10000 liters of medium rate foam can be made of 1 liter of this reagent and 99 liters of water.

Vanino Bulk Terminal is the only company in the world that uses such equipment. From the manufacturing point of view, this innovative dust control method has many advantages, technical expertise employees' of JSC "Daltransugol" say. They are: minimum water consumption, high dust suppression efficiency and increase of wetting effect. From the environmental point of view, the foam provides a harmless and neutral biodegradation of the reagent, rapid dispersion without mixing, as well as pleasant scent of ordinary soap without acute chemical impurities.

"This absolutely new idea was developed in cooperation with the manufacturing company and put into operation. In order to improve the design several tests were conducted at the production site before the installation was put into operation at the terminal. Taking into account that the foam suppresses dust even from bituminous coal, it was decided to cover all coal at the belt conveyer at the very start. Further on the foam will collect the considerable part of dust at the overturning while transporting the coal into stacks, - says Vladimir Shapoval, Deputy CEO of JSC "Daltransugol", regarding the benefits of new system. - I would like to mention the great personal contribution of the technical director Vladimir Dolgopolov, chief mechanic Maxim Bereznev and chief power Yuri Vasilyev, whose leadership brought the ideas into operation with a great success".

Implementation of this project will help to significantly reduce negative impact on environment, reduce the loss of coal during transportation and dust cleaning costs. It also will increase personnel safety and improve working conditions of the equipment.
