OREANDA-NEWS. ZAO "Daltransugol" have achieved the record boat loading during the month, going over 1 million 966 thousand tonnes of coal.

During its 10th anniversary Vanino bulk coal terminal's team has reached great heights of professionalism, proving that in less than a month the production efficiency of the enterprise can not only be kept at the same level compared to the same period, but also increased.

At the beginning of November, due to weather conditions and storms at Sea of Japan, the work processes at Vanino were stopped for 5 days. This, however, didn't prevent its employees from loading almost 2 mln tonnes of coal during the rest of the month. Thereby a new record of annual shipping rates volumes was reached at about 24 mln tonnes of coal.

"This record became possible due to the availability of stock of 840 thousand tonnes of coal at the warehouses at the beginning of the month, as well as the readiness of fleet with the 320 KWDT", said Vladimir Shapoval, CEO of ZAO "Daltransugol".

29 boats were loaded over the course of the month (highest index at Terminal's history), including 6 Panamax type boats with reduced intensity for better clearance of coal for Japan.

Well-planned fleet management and loading equipment positioning allowed stable loading processes with high volumes of wagons relief - 21,442 cars were unloaded this month (this is also the highest mark in the history of the terminal).

Stevedores' teamwork made it possible to reduce the time of mooring operations, to decrease loading preparation time (draft removal) and significantly reduce the number of relocations of shiploaders by making timely adjustments to the cargo plans.

"I want to emphasize the competent and dynamic administration of teams under the leadership of shift supervisors - head of the shift A.N. Packov and A.V. Kuznetsov, as well as the repair unit run by chief mechanic M.B. Bereznev", - commented Vladimir Shapoval. - "Special thanks to our main partner - OJSC "Russian Railways", whose smooth-running and precise work scheme allowed us to increase the carrying capacity of coal by rail on time. Thanks to the improvements made by Russian Railways, notable results in shipment volumes have been achieved through better accessibility of Far East ports in Komsomolsk-na-Amure and Sovetskaya Gavan, as well as the opening of Kuznetsovky tunnel".

In 2013, the Vanino bulk terminal went through equipment modernization, which was part of its preparations for work during winter period. The bulk terminal of Vanino is a whole-year operation, which has direct access to 2 independent main railway lines - the Trans-Siberian railway (Transsib) and Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM), both of which providing connections to all points of Russian Federation.
