OREANDA-NEWS. Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh visited DGNCC, Republic Day Camp-2015 at the Garrison Parade Ground, here today. He was received by the Director General National Cadet Corps, Lieutenant General A Chakravarty.

In his address, Rao Inderjit Singh complimented the cadets for their smart drill and enthusing displays. He also appreciated the commitment of National Cadet Corps to ‘Groom Future Leaders’. Highlighting the immense contributions of NCC, he mentioned it to be the foremost organisation engaged in Youth Empowerment, promoting unique mix of scholastic education and multifaceted activities enabling all round development of young generation in the country.

On arrival, the Rao Inderjit Singh was presented an impressive ‘Guard of Honour’ by selected cadets followed by soulful melodious rendition by Cadets Band from North Eastern Region (NER). The Band enthralled the visiting dignitary and other eminent spectators with their spectacular display. During his visit to Flag Area later, he was confidently briefed by young cadets about their respective State tableaux on contemporary socio-economic themes. Thereafter, he visited ‘Hall of Fame’, a proud possession of NCC with display of rich archival collection of alumni photographs, models, motivational and other visual delights of the three wings of NCC. Then he was driven around the unit lines. He was impressed by the high standard of layout and cleanliness.

The Minister of State for Defence along with other distinguished guests later witnessed a spectacular ‘Cultural Programme’ by the talented cadets in the NCC auditorium which included Ballet by North Eastern Region and Andhra Pradesh Directorates and Group Dance by Uttar Pradesh & Odisha Directorates.

The Republic Day Camp 2015 is being attended by 2070 cadets specially selected from 17 Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories and 100 foreign cadets from eight friendly foreign countries under the Youth Exchange Programme.
