OREANDA-NEWS. ATFBank JSC (Almaty), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following information statement:

"...ATFBank was the first among Kazakh commercial banks to launch new convenient and cost-effective way to set PIN-code in ATMs. The service is based on WAY4 PIN Set solution by OpenWay.

New technology for PIN-code setting will enable ATFBank to provide the customers with modern, qualitative and updated service. Advantages for cardholders are obvious. When a customer opens the card, instead of a paper envelope with random figures, he/she will get SMS with card activation code and then can set a PIN-code in ATM at own choice which is easier to memorize”, - Ms. Inessa Yespenbetova, Executive Director of ATFBank JSC for Card Business commented.

This technology will enable the customers to independently set PIN-code using a mobile phone and ATM. Using those two channels, as well as additional limitations such as term of activation code and special card status at issue make this transaction compliant with all security requirements.

Implementing new technology will also allow to reduce time for card issue, thus, the customers will be serviced even faster. Besides, card issue process will now be more environmental friendly owing to refusal to print out paper PIN-envelopes.

Service launch is a follow-up of modern technologies general implementation process in ATFBank JSC. In 2014 a number of large projects were realized.

One of those is mass issue of contactless Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass cards. At the same time, the Bank issues and maintains both contact and contactless interfaces within Visa, MasterCard international payment systems. ATFBank has also obtained all relevant certificates and licenses to issue and service Union Pay payment cards".
