OREANDA-NEWS. Gross regional product (GRP) of Andijan region grew by 8.3% in 2014, the session of local council dedicated to results of 2014 said.

Production of industrial goods rose by 5.5%, agriculture produces - 7.9%, construction materials - 11%, retail turnover - 14%, paid services to population - 13.5% in 2014.

According to social-economic development programme of the region for 2013-2015, the region realized 357.8 billion soums of investments, including foreign investments - USD 4 million. Over 34,000 new jobs were created in Andijan region.

Over 15% of investments were directed to modernization and re-equipment of enterprises. New 741 enterprises were commissioned in the region. The region started production of 11 new and 16 import-replacing products, which allowed to save hard currency for USD 3.8 million.

About 1,860 new small and private businesses were created in the region and their total number hit 22,802 units. The small and private businesses received loans for 611.9 billion soums. Over 71,385 jobs were created in 2014.
