OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of passenger cars in Europe, including the EFTA countries, in January 2015 grew by 6.2% to 1 million 028 thousand 760 cars. According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), the positive result was recorded in the most EU countries, including all major car markets of Europe - from 27.5% in Spain to 2.6% in Germany.

As noted in the review of the Russian car market in January, among automakers the highest number of cars was sold in the European Union by Volkswagen - 133,388 cars (+ 8.3%). Second place is kept by Ford, which sold 70,170 cars – it is more by 5.4% than a year before. Renault is in the third place with 66,110 sold cars (+ 11.4%). Opel / Vauxhall (63,715 units, + 15.1%) and Peugeot (63,649 units, 3.5%) are completing the "five" leaders.
