OREANDA-NEWS. New container terminal was put into operation on the territory of Tomskneftekhim plant (part of SIBUR Holding). The terminal is intended for storage and shipment of polypropylene and polyethylene on railway platforms. The total area of the terminal is 10.000 square meters.

Firm Transgarant LLC (part of FESCO Transportation Group) has provided design and construction of the terminal. Transgarant functions as an operator of the terminal.

The single storage capacity of the terminal is 1.000 TEU. The terminal is equipped with a container crane. The terminal access ways (length=305 meters) are adjacent to the Russian Railway station Kopylovo through the railway junction of SIBUR - station Vhodnaya.

"In addition to the expansion of "narrow" places in the supply chain Tomskneftekhim, we have changed the scheme of loading and unloading operations on the site. The processing efficiency of shipping operations has increased, moreover the pricing mechanism for shipments of final products through the terminal became more transparent.

Thus, we have insured ourselves against possible risks in this field, SIBUR-Trans CEO, Head of Logistics of SIBUR Holding Oleg Salimov said.

"Launching a new terminal in Tomskneftekhim allows Transgarant to strengthen its position in the West Siberian region. Furthermore this will create positive synergistic effect for all divisions of FESCO Transportation Group. In addition, the partnership with SIBUR increases the volume of Transgarant container traffic due to the long-term cooperation with one of the largest Russian companies", Vice President for Railroad Division of FESCO Transportation Group Nikolai Rezvov, said.

The decision to build a modern container terminal at the SIBUR area was taken due to the planned expansion of Tomskneftekhim production capacities as well as the launching a new production at BIAKSPLEN.

This partnership in construction and management of container terminal project represents a new practice of mutually beneficial cooperation between the operator and the cargo owner in Russia. Transgarant will provide storage and terminal handling of containers, as well as handling the container fleet on the site.
