OREANDA-NEWS. UTair Aviation has been ranked among the top three Russian airlines according to the volume of passengers transported by charter flights. According to the ranking, prepared by the Transport Clearing House, UTair charter flights transported a total of over 3,000,000 passengers in 2014, exceeding the volume for 2013 by almost a third.

The largest component of the UTair charter program was completed in partnership with ANEX Tour, an international travel agency. In the Spring-Summer 2014 period UTair performed flights from 23 Russian cities to 70 destinations in 11 countries. In addition to usual flights to resorts in Turkey (performed from 19 Russian cities), Egypt (from 11 Russian cities) and Thailand (from 6 Russian cities), UTair performed flights to destinations in China, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Spain, Montenegro and Morocco.

“UTair is constantly developing new charter program offers to better correspond to the needs of our passengers and to the interests of our main clients and partners – travel agencies,” said UTair-Passenger Airlines President Oleg Semenov. “UTair’s wide experience in performing charter flights ensures a high level of flight safety and complies with ever higher standards set by the travel market. This in turn allows UTair to remain among the leaders in this business segment.”

UTair charter flights also comprise transportation of personnel performing shift work and corporate VIP flights. According to Mr. Semenov, the advantages of this service are clear. “The availability of charter transport opens access to destinations which lack regular routes,” said Mr. Semenov. “This makes charter air travel almost an exclusive product attractive not only to tourists, but to fuel and energy companies, government departments, professional sports clubs, creative groups and other corporate customers.”
