OREANDA-NEWS. A presentation of small and medium-sized enterprises development study results in the Russian Federation was made at the Economic Development Ministry. The analytical study initiated by Vnesheconombank with the support of the Russian Economic Development Ministry wasconducted by experts of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

OECD experts studied the current state of the Russian SME sector in accordance with OECD standards, identified key factors hampering the development of entrepreneurial activity and evaluatedthe performance of government institutions responsible for carrying out measures for supporting SMEs.

In the course of their presentation the experts gave recommendations on improving government policy in this area with due regard to OECD countries' business experience includingadministrative control, development of competition, access to funding, taxation, foreign economic and innovation activity in this sector.

One of the recommendations was to further expand Vnesheconombank's program for providing financial support for SMEs.

There are plans that the main conclusions of the study will be applied upon developing government measures for regulating and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian Federation.

Specifically, at the suggestion of Tula region Governor, Head of the Working

Group of the Russian State Council Vladimir Gruzdev, who participated in the presentation, the study reportis to be included in the agenda of the State Council's meeting to be held in April of 2015 "On Measures for Developing Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Russian Federation".
