OREANDA-NEWS. Today was held the first meeting of Aeroflot’s Public Council in second convocation.

The Council was created in 2014 as a consultative and advisory body, which will help Russia’s leading airline to formulate its position taking into account demands of the society.

Aeroflot’s Public Council consists of 25 Board members working without indemnity with annual rotation. The Board unites prominent figures of culture, education, health, sports, business, media, public organizations and industry’s representatives. The Board members represent key regions’ under Aeroflot strategy.

The Chairman of Aeroflot’s Public Council is Tatiana Tarasova, a world-renowned figure skating coach, Honored Coach of the USSR. The new Board has been replenished with the following list of prominent people:

— Ashot Gabrelyanov, Babex News Agency CEO;

— Alexey Goreslavsky, journalist, www.Lenta.ru editor-in-chief; 

— Vladimir Zhelonkin, Kommersant Newspaper CEO;

— Yevgeny Mironov, actor, National Actor of Russia;

— Catherine Mtsituridze, TV host, movie critic, editor-in-chief of Variety Russia magazine.

The main point of the first in this year meeting agenda was Aeroflot set of initiatives aimed at developing aviation industry and increasing the transport services availability for the Russian citizens. Special attention was paid to the program of unified fares for the flights to the cities of Far East, Kaliningrad and Crimea. The program was launched this month in accordance with the national carrier’s policy and support of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Members of the meeting reviewed carefully all the details of the proposed program.
