OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding together with its Belarusian partners will take part in the production of a range of unique equipment for grinding and polishing optical parts.

Shvabe Holding enterprise "Scientific and Production Association "Optics" OJSC in cooperation with "Optical machine tool building and vacuum equipment" OJSC (the Republic of Belarus, Minsk) plans to create a complex of machines with numerical program control designed for automatic processing of spherical, flat, aspherical surfaces and other optical parts for various optical-electronic devices. The long-term programme "Production of modern automated equipment and technology for processing optical parts of optical-mechanical and optical-electronic devices" includes the production of around 20 units of diverse equipment (from microoptics to space optics - note) for grinding and polishing products having size from 5 millimeters to 3 meters.

"The project is implemented in the framework of the concept of scientific and technical cooperation within the Union State of Russia and Belarus with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Belarus. The implementation of the project will provide a serious impetus for the development of our country's optical industry. Moreover, it will lead to import substitution in this segment, since due to this project the first modern domestic optical machines will appear," reported Deputy CEO of R&D and innovative development Nikolay Rakovich.

It is planned to allocate 790 million Russian rubles for the implementation of this Russian-Belarusian project. Of which 513.5 MM will be provided by the Russian enterprise, and 276.5 MM by the Belarusian enterprise. The program "Production of modern automated equipment and technology for processing optical parts of optical-mechanical and optical-electronic devices" has a five-year term.
