OREANDA-NEWS. JSC Aeroflot (Moscow Exchange ticker: AFLT) announces operating results of Aeroflot Group ("the Group") and Aeroflot Russian Airlines ("the Company") for March 2015 and the first three months of 2015.

January-March 2015 Operating Highlights

Passenger traffic for Aeroflot Group in 3M 2015 was 7.9 mln, up 15.2% year-on-year. Aeroflot Airline’s traffic was 5.5 mln during the same period, up 9.8% year-on-year.

Group revenue passenger kilometres ("RPKs") rose by 10.2% year-on-year for 3M 2015, while the Company posted 10.9% year-on-year RPK growth. The seat load factor increased by 0.7 percentage points (p.p.) year-on-year to 73.9% for the Group and by 0.8 p.p. year-on-year to 75.3% for the Company.

March 2015 Operating Highlights

In March 2015, Aeroflot Group passenger traffic was 2.8 mln, up 14.3% year-on-year. Aeroflot Airline’s traffic was 1.9 mln in March 2015, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%.

In March Group and Company RPKs increased by 9.6% and 6.8% year-on-year, respectively. Available seat kilometres for the same period rose by 9.3% year-on-year for Aeroflot Group and by 6.3% for Aeroflot Airline.

On domestic routes, Group traffic and RPKs grew by 30.5% and 24.6% year-on-year, respectively, in March 2015. This growth was mainly driven by increased flight frequencies and carrying capacities on high-demand routes. The Company’s traffic and RPKs in March were up by 8.2% and 4.3% year-on-year, respectively.

On international routes, Group traffic was down by 1.4% and RPKs was up by 1.1% year-on-year, respectively, in March 2015. Aeroflot Airline’s traffic and RPKs increased by 3.6% and 8.1% year-on-year, respectively. The growth on international routes was supported by a decrease in competition as a result of lowering of flight frequencies to Russia by several foreign carriers, as well as by growth of international transit traffic through Sheremetyevo airport.

In March 2015, the seat load factor increased by 0.2 p.p. year-on year to 74.8% for the Group and by 0.4 p.p. year on year to 76.4% for the Company.

Fleet Update

During 3M 2015, Aeroflot Airline added two Boeing 737-800s, two SSJ100s and one Boeing 777-300ER. The net increase in the Company’s fleet amounted to four aircraft.
